Water Conservation Tips
Live Positively

Today, approximately 1.1 billion people around the world do not have access to safe drinking water. By 2025, an estimated one-third of the world's population will face severe and chronic water shortages. Human activities often contaminate the world's limited freshwater resources, threatening the health of lakes, rivers, and wetland ecosystems. Water is the main ingredient in all of our beverages and is essential to our manufacturing processes. Water also has broad impacts for our supply chain, as a key component in the production of sugar, for example. Reducing water scarcity and enhancing water quality for our operations and communities we serve are direct and vital business concerns. The world has a finite amount of water but, if managed properly, there is enough to meet our personal, agricultural, and industrial needs, as well as those of nature.

Did you know that a four-minute shower uses 20 - 40 gallons of water?

Try turning off the shower while soaping up and then turn it back on to rinse off and save water.

Many dentists recommend brushing your teeth for 3 to 4 minutes.

That's a lot of water if you keep the faucet running. So try turning it off after you wet your toothbrush to save water. Just wet your brush and fill a glass to rinse.

Save water around the house! Limit your dishwasher usage for full loads only.

Also, despite popular belief, there's no need to pre-rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. And if you do wash dishes by hand, don't leave the water running.

Don't run the hose while washing your car.

Use a spray nozzle hose only for rinsing - this simple practice can save up to 150 gallons a wash. Or better yet, try a waterless car washing system.

Most personal water usage is a result of toilet flushing.

So when you're done with this drink, fill the empty bottle with a little bit of sand and some water, cap it and drop it in the toilet tank to use less. More bottles in, less water out.
