Coca-Cola Africa Builds Six New Schools in Egypt to Promote Female Education February 4, 2008
The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation has built six new schools in
various rural areas of the country this year, to improve the
lives of young girls in Egypt. The project began in January
2006 and was successfully concluded in February this year at
a cost of approximately US$100,000. To date it has directly
impacted more than 125 girls.
The initiative was aimed at educating the female population
so as to raise the economic productivity, lower infant and maternal
mortality, improve nutrition, promote health and increase access
to education for the next generation in Egypt.
