Our Quality Process: DASANI® Case Study

We are featuring the DASANI manufacturing process in North America here as an example of the rigor and routine behind our commitment to quality for all our products. The DASANI illustration allows you to interact with the manufacturing process steps and quality checks required to transform source water into pure, delicious and refreshing DASANI bottled water. In addition, you can examine a typical analysis that compares samples of DASANI to limits defined by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

DASANI: Creating a Quality Bottled Water
Like all beverages produced by The Coca-Cola Company, our water brands are manufactured and packaged according to strict safety and quality requirements. In addition to local, state, and federal regulations, the Coca-Cola system requires certain global operating standards through The Coca-Cola Quality System, which helps ensure quality in everything we do.

Quality compliance throughout the Coca-Cola system is verified by periodic onsite audits conducted by The Coca-Cola Company and, in some cases, third-parties. Through multiple treatment steps including disinfection, filtration, purification, and routine monitoring of equipment and water quality, The Coca-Cola Company ensures that purified DASANI is produced in accordance with FDA and our additional quality standards. Even though DASANI is produced and packaged in different locations, the same taste and quality is guaranteed.

Before a bottle of DASANI is ready for distribution to consumers, eight key activities take place as part of the manufacturing process. Though initial water treatment and interim processing steps may vary slightly depending upon plant location and source water quality, bottled water production always includes these processes.
