Rumor:  Scam postings claim to show "horrific" video about Coca-Cola

Messages posted on Facebook and Twitter are claiming to provide links that users can click to view a supposedly "horrific" video showing the "truth" about Coca-Cola.

Our Response:  In fact, there is no such video. Users who try to view the video are instead asked to share links to the content and to respond to surveys requesting personal information. This activity appears to be part of a phishing scam in which perpetrators attempt to obtain personal information that can be used to commit identify theft. Consumers should avoid clicking on these links and should not provide any personal information. Anyone who has provided information to these sites should contact their local and/or federal authorities for advice on how to protect their personal information and privacy.
