Business to Business magazine has featured Carletta Ooton, our Company's Vice President and Chief Quality & Product Integrity Officer, in its "2010 Women of Excellence" issue.
These annual awards celebrate the outstanding professional women who contribute to and shape Atlanta's business and civic communities. The program recognizes dynamic leaders who excel in their professions, who positively affect people around them, and who make a difference in the greater Atlanta community.
Keeping our Company's promise of uncompromising quality in every product is vital to the sustainability of our brands and business. Ooton has overarching accountability for the policies and standards, audits, analytical services, food safety, customer quality, performance measures and operations delivered by our Global Quality organization.
Ooton, who joined our Company in 2006, has more than 20 years of quality and operational experience. Prior to joining the Company, she worked for Cott Beverages, Bath & Body Works, Unilever and Tate and Lyle. She holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biological Sciences and Chemistry, as well as a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from Southern Illinois University.
Beyond her professional duties, Ooton is actively involved with a number of industry organizations, including the American Society for Quality, the Global Food Safety Initiative and Safe Supply of Affordable Food Everywhere. She also lends support to several socio-civic organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the local chapter of United Way, as well as the Take Aim at Cancer Research Fund, which seeks to raise critical funding for lung cancer research. In addition, Ooton takes an active role in both of her children's schools and extracurricular activities.
