Global Juice Center Leaves Sustainable Legacy In Kenya

Project Nurture is a mango and passion fruit and juice sourcing partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and TechnoServe and its primary objective is to develop local fruit sourcing and its supply chain to support our expanding juice business in the region and globally, while improving the incomes of more than 50,000 passion and mango farmers in Kenya and Uganda.

In support of the recent launch of Project Nurture in Kenya, several general managers from our Company's Global Juice Center spent a day visiting Embakasi Garrison Primary school on the outskirts of Nairobi planting 100 mango fruit trees and inaugurating eight new water fountains for the pupils.

With the help of the Global Juice Center, the school can now harvest rainwater in a 10,000-liter tank, giving students and teachers access to clean, safe water near the classrooms. Piping and plumbing work was also completed in the mango fruit farm to ensure watering of the fruit trees during dry seasons, and anchor Coca-Cola bottler Sabco, which is located near the school, committed to painting all 20 classrooms.
