Working Mother magazine, in partnership with Advertising Women of New York (AWNY), has named Annis Lyles, Vice President, Connections Planning and Investment for Coca-Cola North America, a 2011 Advertising Working Mothers of the Year honoree.
For the seventh consecutive year, Working Mothers and AWNY searched for outstanding working mothers in advertising, media and communications who radiate a positive influence at work, at home and in the community. Twenty winners were named in three different categories: Established Moms; New-to Motherhood Moms; and Trailblazer Moms. Lyles, a 25-year media industry veteran with twin 15-year-olds, was selected as a winner in the Established Moms category.
Lyles is an inspirational example of someone who lives positively and serves as a role model -- particularly to working moms -- by balancing her professional and personal responsibilities. She has a proven track record of success throughout her more than 20 years at Coca-Cola , where she currently leads the strategy, connections planning and investment of media across the Coca-Cola North America portfolio of brands.
In addition to leading high-profile media negotiations with strategic properties including American Idol, the Olympic Games and the Academy Awards, Lyles manages a team of 25 associates and a New York-based agency of more than 80 media professionals. Among her most significant achievements is the merging of the Media and Interactive disciplines into one integrated communications organization within Coca-Cola North America.
Lyles has a very busy personal life, too. To maintain a healthy work-life balance, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, and volunteering in her local community. She has been a member of various local and national professional organizations, including the Atlanta Broadcast Club, the American Advertising Federation and the Girl Scouts (where she was awarded "Outstanding Girl Scout Leader in Metro Atlanta"). She also has held numerous fundraising roles for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and her kids' school.
Lyles will be honored next week during a luncheon in New York. The event will be covered in Working Mother's May issue and numerous trade publications.
Working Mother and AWNY are noted for their efforts to promote the advancement of women, both professionally and personally. Founded in 1912, AWNY's mission is to provide "a forum for personal and professional growth, to serve as a catalyst for the advancement of women in the communication field" and to promote philanthropic endeavors.
