The Coca-Cola Company No. 12 on DiversityInc Ranking of Top Companies for Diversity

The Coca-Cola Company came in at No. 12 on the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list for 2011, up 5 spots from last year's ranking of No. 17. This marks the eighth consecutive year that the Company has ranked in the Top 20 of their survey, a mark no other company has achieved.

"We are pleased with our recognition from DiversityInc," said Steve Bucherati,  Group Director, Global Diversity. "The Company remains focused on continued progress with our diversity, inclusion and workplace fairness initiatives. This is ongoing work and there is still much to be done, but it's gratifying to see an independent organization validate that we're on the right track. We are committed to our 2020 Vision goal of achieving true diversity, and for our Company, this means our ability to understand, embrace and operate in a multicultural world - both in the marketplace and the workplace."

The DiversityInc survey is one of the most comprehensive and prestigious diversity surveys for companies with more than 1,000 employees. A total of 535 companies participated in this year's survey, up 19% percent from last year's total of 449, underscoring the increasing emphasis progressive companies place on diversity management.

The survey consisted of almost 300 questions and rated companies based upon demonstrating consistent strength in four areas: CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate and Organizational Communications, and Supplier Diversity.
