Eddie R. Hays, Ph.D., is Vice President, Science. The Science Function is responsible for stewardship of Coca-Cola Trademark products and for the global production, supply and quality of flavors used by The Coca-Cola Company. The key areas within the Science Function are Flavor Ingredient Supply, Flavor Manufacturing, Formula Governance and Ingredient Quality.

Dr. Hays joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1985 as a Scientist in Corporate R&D. During his career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility including Director, Product Development, Corporate R&D; director, R&D, Middle and Far East Group; and Director, Corporate R&D. In 2000 he was elected Vice President, The Coca-Cola Company and Deputy Director for the Science Division. In 2001, he assumed his current role leading the Science Function.

Dr. Hays serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors for the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association. He has served previously on the Advisory Board of the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Board of Directors of The Atlanta College of Art, the Science and Technology Museum of Atlanta, and committees of the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

He holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Food Science from the University of Georgia.
