John C. Reid is Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, where he leads a global, cross-functional team that ensures that the Coca-Cola system is doing everything we can to support balanced lifestyles and increased physical activity. The team focuses on three key areas: understanding the underlying causes of and effective solutions to obesity and inactivity by collaborating with the scientific community; applying those insights to beverage, packaging and marketing innovation; and partnering with external stakeholders, including customers and bottlers, to support active, healthy living initiatives.
Mr. Reid was formerly Global Director of Coca-Cola University, the training and development arm of The Coca-Cola Company. He joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1974, working in both the bottle/can and food service sides of CCNA, rising to senior roles in marketing and strategic planning. He also served as our first Chief Environmental Officer.
Outside Coca-Cola, Mr. Reid has served as Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Atlanta, Assistant Secretary for Education of New York State, and Deputy Director of State Operations of New York State. He has led five start-up businesses -- three in education.
Mr. Reid is a graduate of MIT and Brandeis University. |
