Coca-Cola India Launches New Rainwater Harvesting Project In Pune

June 23, 2006 edition

Following implementation of a rainwater harvesting project at its Pirangut plant, Coca-Cola India (CCI) recently launched a similar rainwater harvesting project in the village of Paud, near Pune. The project has the potential to harvest approximately four million liters of rainwater annually.

The recharge trench in Paud will be 1.5 – 3.0 meters wide and 2.0 – 3.0 meters deep, covering the 1,622 square-meter rooftop of the Tehsildars office -- the largest man-made structure in the area.

The project is in line with CCI’s philosophy of addressing environmental and community initiatives across India.
