Forty of the brightest high school students in the country recently gathered in Keystone, Colorado, to participate in a Youth Policy Summit on "Nutrition in America’s K-12 Schools."

The Summit, which included a full week of discussions, negotiations and role-playing, culminated with the students drafting a national public policy recommendation related to the Summit topic. The recommendation will be disseminated to political, academic, corporate and non-profit leaders, including the White House and members of Congress.

During the summit, students presented an array of tough questions to a panel of food, nutrition and medical experts from several large companies, including the chief regulatory officer of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC).

The Summit is an annual collaboration between The Keystone Center and The National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology (NCSSSMST).
