Qoo Website A Finalist At Asia Interactive Awards

August 18, 2006 edition

Coca-Cola Singapore's "Qoo Towne" website (www.qoo.com.sg) was short-listed as a finalist in the "Best Breakthrough Website" category of the Asia Interactive Awards, held earlier this month.

Supported by the Asia Digital Marketing Association, International Promotion Marketing Association and Designer Association Singapore, these honors are the region’s only awards focused on the online medium.

Qoo Towne, a virtual village designed to promote and enhance ongoing consumer interaction with the cult brand, was created in February 2004 by Wiz Werx, an interactive agency in Singapore. Inspired by Japanese architecture with a modern twist, Qoo Towne features an art gallery, juice bar, sports complex, entertainment center, school and post office -- enabling consumers to experience the everyday life of Qoo.

Applications such as games, desktop themes and Flash puzzles make the site a visually compelling and engaging destination. One of Qoo Towne’s more innovative features is the weather and time setting, which reflect real-time conditions in Singapore, accomplished by connecting Flash animation to Singapore's weather report. The site also celebrates traditional Singapore festivals like National Day, when helicopters can be spotted flying Singapore flags over the virtual horizon.

Fans of the brand can also take home a piece of the Qoo mania by trading product labels online for collectible merchandise like beach towels, bed linens and bikinis.
