Coca-Cola has unveiled a two-meter-high,
three-dimensional version of the new "Unity Bottle" jointly
designed by basketball Olympians Yao Ming, of China, and
LeBron James, from the United States. The Coca-Cola
contour bottle design by the two sports icons was created
as a symbol of global harmony and cultural collaboration,
in celebration of the world coming together for the Beijing
2008 Olympic Games. Yao and James used the online interactive
tools at the consumer Web site "Design the World a Coke"
to produce their unique bottle design together. The two-meter
version of the bottle will be on display in various Beijing
locations during the Olympic Games in China.
Host city Beijing is transformed into a playground of excitement, pride, openness and refreshment in the new "Shuang City" Coca-Cola television commercial introduced recently in China. The episode culminates with national sports hero Yao Ming leading City of Shuang residents to the start of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Coca-Cola literally rolled out the red carpet to produce a new television commercial, "Red Carpet," that celebrated the arrival of the Olympic Flame in China last May for the three-month, host country segment of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay.
"Red Around the World,"
a song commissioned by Coca-Cola China to celebrate the
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the Chinese people, climbed
to the top of China's music charts after its March 2008
release. In early May, the uplifting anthem was the closing
number at a nationally broadcast Coca-Cola "Welcome
the Flame to China" party (pictured), when the global
Olympic Torch Relay arrived in mainland China. Several
renditions of "Red Around the World" have since
been recorded and performed by some of China's leading
music artists.
